Cherilyn Mackrory MP for Truro and Falmouth was in Truro today to promote the importance of local business and encourage a return to high-street shopping on Small Business Saturday.
Small Business Saturday is a non-commercial grassroots campaign which seeks to highlight the success of local businesses and their contributions to local communities. The campaign began in 2010 and takes place every year on the first Saturday of December.
The goal of Small Business Saturday is to encourage people to shop local. All types of small businesses are included in the campaign, whether based online, in offices, or on our highstreets. The campaign seeks to ensure a lasting impact on small businesses through promotion and encouraging engagement with the community to facilitate their future success.
Cherilyn said:
“A true testament to Cornish spirit and ingenuity are the hundreds of brilliant successful small businesses we have right here in our community.
I encourage everyone with an idea to get out there and make it happen. We’re a nation of business and Small Business Saturday is the perfect opportunity to celebrate local success and local achievement.”
