Cherilyn Mackrory MP for Truro and Falmouth is pleased to champion local pubs to win at the PubAid Community Pub Hero Awards 2024.
The awards are a recognition of the role pubs play in connecting people over food and drink, and in helping to unite their local community. PubAid’s award is sponsored by Matthew Clarke, a UK-Based national wholesaler of alcohol, and is run in association with the All-Party Parliamentary Beer Group.
The awards are split into several categories including Community Support Hero; Community Fundraising Hero; and Community Regular Hero. This year two new categories have been introduced which are Community Sport Hero, and Community Sustainability Hero.
Pubs and punters can nominate their local for each of the three categories, with final nominations closing on 19th January 2024.

“Our pubs are the heart of the community, bringing people together and providing a place where we can all go, relax, and enjoy ourselves. The importance of community has never been more clear since the pandemic, and I know that for many of us the pub is a safe space were we can all come together and support one another.
“But pubs are far more than just a place to get a drink. They champion local culture with quality local food and local beer, and they fundraise for and promote local issues. Our locals are at the centre of the community, and it’s brilliant that we can all take this opportunity to say thank you to the work that they do.”
