Cherilyn Mackrory, Member of Parliament for Truro and Falmouth, has welcomed the news that some roads in the constituency are due for an upgrade after Cornwall received £5.5million of funding to improve rural roads.
The funding, announced recently as part of the New Deal plan to boost infrastructure in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis forms part of countrywide package of measures to improve roads.
In Truro and Falmouth the following roads are being upgraded:
St Agnes to Chiverton
Mill Road, Bolingey
Calerick - Penmount
West Trelowthas, Probus
Station Road, Perranwell
Cherilyn said:
“While I have been cracking on with the strategic road upgrade with the duelling of the A30 between Chiverton Cross and Carland Cross roundabouts since my election in December, I am also keenly aware of the other roads across the wider area that need attention.”
“This additional funding is very welcome and I look forward to seeing these roads get an upgrade as part of the national investment, and will continue to do all I can to ensure further funding for our transport infrastructure is brought forward where ever possible.”
