Cherilyn Mackrory, Member of Parliament for Truro and Falmouth has this evening met with Secretary of State for Education Gavin Williamson following her recent Question in Parliament regarding a new school for Truro and Falmouth.
On 12 October Cherilyn asked the Secretary of State for a meeting about a new school in the constituency, mentioning in particular the strains on the existing schools with pupil numbers continuing to grow.
Cherilyn said:
“There is a clear overflow of secondary school places in this part of Cornwall and a new, free secondary school is much needed. The Secretary of State agrees with me.”
“I am delighted to confirm that we are now able to progress to the next step of the process and start identifying suitable locations within my constituency for new secondary school.”
“I am due to meet with the Secretary of State again soon to move this forward.”
“On top of a new road and a new hospital, I am committed to delivering a new school for my constituents in Truro and Falmouth.”
